Samba–Rock

Samba-rock is a kind of rock music. Created in the 1960s, it combines the sounds of soul, funk and Brazilian samba. Back at the 70’s samba-rock was a new style of music. This style was invented by Jorge Ben.
Samba-Rock is a modern mixture of samba and rock rhythms, sung mostly in Portuguese. It got popular in Brazil, specially in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, since 2001.
This kind of music is a modern dance, with a mixture of samba and rock steps. This rhythm of samba mixed Black American arrangements, it was a popular dance for a long time in Brazil.
The most important samba-rock singers are Seu Jorge, Trio Mocotó, Jorge Ben, Sambasonics, Juca Chaves, Farufyno, Clube do Balanço, etc.
